We also learn a bit about certain heroes and their activities since Endgame. The Inventor was a cloning experiment got wrong who served as the villain in the first Ms. The most noticeable was the appearance of the bird-faced Inventor. The opening credits also featured a lot of doodle-style references to the comic books.

There was a wall of rememberance for Tony Star and Natasha Romanoff, plus some fan art of Captain America’s booty. Marvel “Generation Why” Easter EggsĪvengersCon was a whole flurry of Easter eggs, and seeing Avengers cosplay within the MCU is a great touch. Muneeba also makes a few comments about her mother being known to live in her own world, and she scolds Kamala for having her “head in the clouds”. When a box with lots of stamps arrives before Aamir’s wedding, Kamala pulls out the cuff that later gives her cosmic abilities.

But there are several references to Kamala’s Naani, her grandmother on her mother’s side. If you’re not listening, you could just hear a regular mother fretting over her child. Kamala’s mother Muneeba mentions her daughter’s imaginative, unfocused nature several times throughout the episode. Her father Yusuf and mother Muneeba are very loving and involved, even if they struggle to understand Kamala and her interests. Yusuf as the Hulk is just… it’s so good and pure. And it’s clear that this will be the case in the show as well. The Khan family are major characters in Kamala’s life and in the comics. I sure hope those artists are getting paid though… And of course, art from the comics can be seen all over the street art in Jersey City. Plenty of moments, like Kamala sitting down to breakfast with her parents and her brother Aamir, are pulled directly from the comics. Also 10+XP for excellent use of food porn.

Using neon signs, ornate patterns, and notebook doodles in the background, the show uses text message conversations to incorporate the artistic influences from the comics. The use of doodle-style art continues past the opening credits and all across the episode.

We also made bubble wands with natural materials. If you thought the art style in the series trailer was great, you’re in for a real treat. Have you been crafty lately? Please share! Oh, and I made this nice little winter arrangement with holly, cedar, and vines to o… The cedar and onion smells being the prominent ones! So if you need to make some mini brooms, for any reason, this method would work great! I have to say the best part of this project was all the smells. I can already tell these brushes are not going to be about precision painting! Another interesting thing I noticed is that they look like mini-brooms. I also trimmed the uneven tops and bottoms of the bristle material after securing. For some I wrapped a second length of wire around just the bristle material to try and improve the shape. I distributed the bristle material around the top of the branch as evenly as I could, then I wrapped a length of wire tightly around both to secure. I kept the construction process very simple. We cleared off the dining room table and got to work making paint-brushes. We gathered some pine needles both green and dried, grass both green and dried, wild onions (which I thought was grass until I smelled them and uprooted the little guys!), and some cedar greens along with some branches for handles. I can’t believe it took me 22 years to do it! I didn’t have that teacher but ever since then I have wanted to try it. The sun felt good and my son and I had fun exploring as we gathered materials for our little project today.īack in art school there was a teacher that had his students make art supplies from natural materials. Today the freezing cold temperatures, that have turned us into shut-ins lately, rose just enough with the bright midday sun to allow us to get out into the backyard for a little bit.
